Dear Sunil,

Your suggestion of scanning pillars at the lower basement is excellent .. I did it in couple of towers  (C1 and C2) of  Supertech Livingston and I do not see any damage in the pillars ..   

I would also request residents to spend sometime in checking status of pillars and reports if there is something which needs attentions ..

It is extremely relieving to note that CR withstood this earthquake. We need to ascertain that there is no damage to the structure. In case there are damages noticed, they should be rectified and strengthened immediately. 

I saw Sapphire and Topaz towers of Arihant Ambience swaying from sapphire terrace. Even though the buildings withstood the earthquake, it is quite possible that there could some minor damage to the foundation. We will need to scan the lower basement for cracks in the beams & columns. 

I suggest that a certified structural enginner should inspect the buildings. In Gujarat it was done by the government and certificates of different catagories were given.

Today's earth quake is a proof that all the building construction are 100% earth quake resistant as it was long earth quake which felt everyone.....
