Best is to buy an inverter. You wont feel anything, neither the cuts nor the electricity bills. A 2kVA sine-wave branded inverter costs less than Rs. 30,000, which is less that the money you pay for the initial backup installation charges. It runs perfectly for more than 12-15 hours.
The initial installation charges for the power backup by the builder is Rs 20,000 per kVA and later about Rs. 12/- per unit for the backup usage. This is huge.
