Can you please tell what amount he has charged from you and for what work?
 
I do not understand the context of your reply. Are you planning to held back the amount you committed to him?? My point of commenting on this forum was to warn others to do their own negotiations/comparisons as their is no set standards for these types of work and same vendor can give different quotes to different people. The problem with reference only work is that people do not tend to look for other vendors for comparisons so one should always specify the rates on which he got the work done from vendor If one is recommending someone.
 
Now that you have committed, IMHO you should pay.
 
Moreover involving others at this point in your discussion can put others in ugly situation as well. In my opinion one should be discreet in taking names of others when talking to vendor while asking them the questions of these sort.

The work done was also satisfactory.
 
I called up Gulfam to understand why is he charging the exorbitant amount with the people and i shall not recommend him further but his response was that he never spoke to any Saurabh and Sumit which i disagreed.
can you please share your contact detail so that the matter can be discussed and if he is really charging the extra money i will hold his payment since some payment is pending from my side.

I agree that Gulfam charges more than other vendors. Please compare the rates of different vendors before finalising any one. vendors have publicised there work and have started charging premium for their work

I get following items done in my flat:

1. Iron gate for main door.
2. Kitchen and drawing room balcony covered with grill including glass,

he charged me 6000/- for Iron gate.

for grill work in balcony he charged me 200 per sq feet, this include iron grill will glass.

without glasses he will charge 150 per sq feet if you opt for windows along with grill, simple plain grill cover he charges 130 per sq feet.
