How good this move is by GDA has to be seen.
Just by putting the list on the website is not going to help the buyers. This should get updated on regular basis.

GHAZIABAD: Considering large number of cheating cases by developers, Ghaziabad Development Authority has adopted a transparent route to educate investors by uploading a list of errant builders on its official website. The website mentions sealed properties as well as those whose layout plans have been cancelled by the Authority. The lists also include details of those developers who have obtained NOCs from the Authority and fire department.
GDA chairman, Santosh Yadav, said that during the last decade Ghaziabad has witnessed a realty boom and this has also caused large-scale cheating and harassment of buyers. The Authority has also uploaded unauthorized constructions and details of colonies, apart from details of errant developers on the official website.
The list uploaded on the website states that completion certificates of Gaursons's four projects in Vaishali Sector 4 -Gaur Ganga, Godawari tower, Bramhaputra tower and Gaur Heights - have been cancelled. The reason of cancellation is not mentioned.
Gaursons MD, Manoj Gaur, said, "For the last four years our proposals to issues completion certificates were lying with GDA, but officials did not pay heed and ultimately they are holding us responsible. If a project has fire, lift, electricity and structural safety certificates and there is no issue of compounding interest then within 90 days from the date of submission of application it is considered deemed completion. If the Authority was reluctant to issue completion certificates, then we should not be blamed."
The GDA chairman said that uploading the details have also reduced public interface. "Earlier, people used to visit our office frequently to examine the legality of projects. Now that most details are online, it has increased the efficiency of our system," said Yadav.
"The credibility of the region lies with the real estate sector. People avoid investing in a region if cheating cases occur frequently. We expect this move to be a significant tool for all prospective buyers to understand the nature of projects in a better manner. Incomplete information is more harmful than no information. Our website would enable buyers to take a better decision towards their investment," Yadav added. Officials have also invited public suggestions on their new initiative.
