This is not a small theft or a petty crime that school can be given a second chance...NO, NEVER. Stern steps should be taken RIGHT NOW to ensure that the school is SHUTDOWN...that will send a strong message to all playschools and institution s operating in crossings, and they will automatically mend their ways. Standard operating guidelines will automatically come into effect.
STRONG message in one way or the other needs to be given. SILENCE in this case will only harm our society and all parents and children.
I am disturbed with this mail from CROMA.. what kind of a society we are making here... Do we want and encourage that - One by one whosoever face such crime against their family and loved ones should hide his/her face under the burden of shame and guilt...we as a society do nothing but burden the victim with guilt and shame!! Who should be shameful?? This society should feel the shame, that school should feel the shame, that culprit should feel the shame and not that innocent child and her family...Can we break this toxic burden of guilt and shame that VICTIM is burdened with???Probably yes, but by communicating, by standing together, by a show of solidarity, by openly expressing ourselves with our fellow society members and certainly NOT by confining ourselves. This mail from CROMA is worrisome, disturbing and to some sense disgusting as it is advising against the idea of standing together.Please not that candle light march is not just an expression of anger and solidarity against this particular case, this is the expression of our collectivity and solidarity to show all that we are all standing together against any of such crimes. This is just to inform you that last week a case of Nursery child sexual harassment was reported at a Play School at Crossings Republik. An FIR has been lodged by the parents of child in this regard and currently the accused person is in Dasna Jail, Ghaziabad.
Team members of CROMA met the parents and have extended full support to the parent. CROMA also met the school administration and the SHO, Vijay Nagar. The "CROMA Safety & Security Committee" is already monitoring this incident very closely. There is no doubt that this is really a shocking incident and the accused, if found guilty, should be punished with the severest of punishment prescribed by law and also action required to avoid similar incident in future.
In this type of case for any action we need to take action considering following.
1) What Parent want and thing are happening as per that or not
2) What is required to be done by School and that has happened or not.
3) What action required from Police and is there any deviation from that.
Mr. Tanweer, CROMA Vice President is in regular touch with parent, Police & School and doing the necessary follow up. As far as parent are concerned they are in deep shock and want accused to be punished however same time issue & their identity should not be made public. School administration has informed that they were not aware of the incident and no complain was made to them. They came to know about this incident only when they received call from Police Station. They are ready to support the investigation in all respect. They have also issued a clarification which is attached herewith.
Police has already arrested the culprit and as per SHO Mr. Hardayal Yadav action is being taken as per law if any one is willing to facilitate investigation they should come forward and help them or for any other action written complaint to be given with evidence.
Things are moving as expected and school administration also agreed to take corrective action, such as, installing the CCTV Cameras, appointing only female staff and other suggestions as per the parents meeting so that this kind of incidents are not repeated and are such situations are severely dealt with in future.
We further request the parents, whose child is or children are going to school, to be vigilant in this regard. Team CROMA itself adopts zero tolerance in this regard and request you to inform of any such incident, if taking place.
In the meanwhile, CROMA is planning to come up with a guideline for all the Play Schools and Crèches running inside the township to ensure that such incident do not take place at any level.
