if u r taking your car for a short period of a year or so. Need to do nothing but keep all original papers. Including insurance n valid pollution certificate all the time. Chances r it will be chkd in all states if u r driving.
I have just come back from mumbai after one year driving both ways.
If its a long term than take NOC. It may take up to 3 days. N register your car in mumbai at the earliest No point to go to agent they just tell u to do things your own n charge for advice.
Instead walk in to RTO s office n tell him. They r generally helpful.
I got my licence NOC in same day by doing this.
Hopefully it will work for u as well.
By doing yrself u may spent some time but certainly no harrassment or waste of money.
