Hello Tikaram ji,

I beg to differ with you as I have a different opinion on RTI (which I have from my personal experience).

RTI is the most effective tool / utility provided by Government of India. I know how worse the other things provided by government work but RTI has entirely different effect. Speaking to someone over phone will not serve your purpose as the person, whom are you speaking with, is not an authentic one who has any authority to provide you the official information on the record. This is merely a personal talk which does not have any legal stand.

But information got under RTI is an authentic one and even Supreme Court will accept it without any further question. You can move to district consumer forum (for speedy trial which will take maximum 90 days to finalize the settlement) / civil court (will take more time, not predictable) to get compensation for your damage, along with mental pain you suffered and penalty for postal service.

FYI.. Any defect in postal services in India comes under "Deficiency of Service" of "The Consumer Protection Act-1986"

Following points for RTI which I would like to bring in notice while raising a RTI:

(1)   Keep a copy of RTI application along with the postal registry slip for your reference.

(2)   Be specific in your questions. The questions asked under RTI must have isolate in nature and should be open ended. E.g. status, reason for delay, person responsible, etc.

(3)   You can ask as many questions as you asked. There is no limit of number of questions.

(4)   You can ask any supported document / report which will need an extra payment of 10 Rs per page.

After obtaining the information from PR officer of postal services, you can take an appropriate action which we can discuss later (in case if you are willing to take any action).

Use RTI once with appropriate question, and I am sure that you will get the required satisfaction. This is a real powerful tool for civilians only requirement is to use it. J

Hi Shree Kant ji, hi Asheesh ji, hi Manmohan ji, hi Anurag ji,

Many thanks for all your thoughts & suggestions.

I already have raised a complaints online too and response I am getting is not fruitful - they just update the online tracking status only which I can do myself from the home page itself.

Again, you know filing an RTI will not bring the culprit to the front. I had spoken to a gentle nice post master in Chennai (the sender's post office) for around 15 mins and you know he has given me in depth status of the speed post and finally he has apologised on behalf of the post master at crossings republik.  And, you will get surprised to know the reason for return of the speed post mentioned by the post master at crossings republik - he has mentioned that the ADDRESS IS INCORRECT - too funny and the real truth is hidden here. So, even if I will file an RTI the culprit will not be punished rather they will blame the sender only.

So, still I don't know what will happen to the postal deliveries for Saviour GreenISLE :-( - which is still an unresolved open issue. All letters for Saviour GreenISLE might be getting returned with the same reason.

Hi Tikaram Ji,

Though not very quick but you can take help of RTI. It is simple and very effective.

Simply give a RTI application to the PR officer of postal department Ghaziabad and ask for the status and reason for delay of your speed-post. They will be bound to give you the reason of delay within 30 days. And this will be an official reply which will explain you the reason. The main culprit will be before you and then if you want you can take a legal step.

Expenses will be about INR 40/- .

This may not solve your current problem but I am sure that same incident will never be happening with any of the resident of crossing.

Can someone please suggest me what should I do / whom should I approach for the following issue apart from what I already have done.

1) I have recently moved to Saviour GreenISLE society which is within Crossings Republik.

2) Am expecting a speed post at my new address ( in Saviour GreenISLE ).

3) The postal delivery from Crossings Republik post office @ Galeria Market already started now and they are flooded with huge numbers postal items / letters.

4) The speed post that I am expecting is not being delivered by any of the post man @ Crossings Republik and Ghaziabad City for last two weeks with the reason that this area does not come under their jurisdiction and the speed post is being diverted to each other by both the post offices ( Crossings Republik and Ghaziabad City ) and even none of them ready to hand over the speed post by person even after showing ID proof & address proof in originals.

(a) The postman(s) @ Crossings Repulik ( Morya & Sanjay - seems to be too clever guys !!! ) says that Saviour GreenISLE is not in Crossings Republik and the post for this society will be delivered by the postman from Ghaziabad City ( Vinod Sharma - who also distribute the post for Santi Nagar village which is next to Saviour GreenISLE Society but outside of Crossings Republik )and

(b) when approached the postman Vinod & the post master @ Ghaziabad City post office - they are saying that the post office @ Crossings Republik is opened specially for all the housing society with in Crossings Republik ( this sound nice to me and make sense too !!! ) and as Saviour GreenISLE is a housing society with in Crossings Republik - the post for this society has to be delivered from Crossings Republik and Vinod will not deliver the letters for Saviour GreenISLE.

In summary - as per the post masters & post mans at both Crossings Republik & Ghaziabad City Saviour GreenISLE housing society is a no man's land for the postal service.

So, can someone please help me to get this issue sorted for all future postal delivery @ Saviour GreenISLE society.

And, finally - I had got in touch with a genuine guys (I think !) from Ghaziabad City post office who has suggested me to write to the Superintendent postal service and have sent an email to him and expecting a response from him - but, you know our esteemed Government employees they think they are doing a great social service they might not respond.

So, I need suggestion from anyone - who can guide/help me what should we do in this scenario's - this is one off case for me and I am not too much bothered about this post although it has a very important document for me - I can ignore that for the time being - but if this issue is resolved this could help lot others in this society.
