Government must have thought that hope of better Delhi connectivity is badly needed by the people of Meerut-Hardwar area after being struck by Kedarnath tragedy and communal riots.

मार्च से शुरू होगा दिल्ली-मेरठ एक्सप्रेस-वे का काम

दिल्ली से मेरठ आने-जाने के लिए नैशनल हाइवे अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (एनएचएआई) की ओर से पब्लिक प्राइवेट पार्टनरशिप (पीपीपी) के तहत रिक्वेस्ट फॉर टेंडर (आरएफक्यू) जारी किया गया है। 15 मार्च तक इस प्रोजेक्ट पर काम करने वाली कंपनी का चयन कर लिया जाएगा।

इसके बाद 31 मार्च से एक्सप्रेस-वे का काम शुरू हो जाएगा। इसके लिए जमीन उपलब्ध कराने की जिम्मेदारी मेरठ मंडल के कमिश्नर को दी गई है।

डीएमई पूर्वी दिल्ली एनएच-24 स्थित यूपी बॉर्डर से शुरू होकर गाजियाबाद, हापुड़ और मेरठ तीन जिलों में होगा। इस एक्सप्रेस-वे को बनाने के लिए नई सड़क का निर्माण न कर एनएच-24, एनएच-58 और एनएच-235 की सड़कों का 150 किमी तक विस्तार कर बनाया जाएगा। एनएचएआई की ओर से दी गई जानकारी के मुताबिक इस परियोजना की लागत लगभग 6 हजार 450 करोड़ रुपये होगी। पर्यावरण संतुलन बनाए रखने के लिए 8 करोड़ 30 लाख की लागत से काम कराए जाएंगे। इस परियोजना के लिए कुल 435 हेक्टेयर भूमि की जरूरत पड़ेगी।
केंद्रीय शहरी विकास मंत्रालय के सचिव डॉ. सुधीर कृष्णा ने कहा कि मंत्रालय चाहता है कि डीएमई जल्द से जल्द बने और लोगों का दिल्ली से मेरठ का सफर सुगम हो। इसके बन जाने पर दिल्ली मेरठ के बीच दूरी घट जाएगी और सफर टेंशन फ्री हो जाएगा। दिल्ली आने और जाने वालों को जाम का सामना नहीं करना पड़ेगा और लोग दिल्ली से मेरठ सिर्फ 45 से 60 मिनट में पहुंच जाएंगे। इसके अलावा दिल्ली के लोगों के लिए हरिद्वार और देहरादून जाने में भी एक घंटा कम लगेगा। वहीं इससे औद्योगिक और संस्थागत विकास को भी नया आयाम मिलेगा।

एनएच-24 पर 28 किलोमीटर तक 9 फ्लाईओवर, 5 पैदल यात्री अंडरपास, 2 वाहन अंडरपास, 1 छोटा पुल, 2 बड़े पुल, 10 पुलिया, एक आरओबी और एक टोल प्लाजा का प्रस्ताव किया गया है। इसी राजमार्ग पर 28 किलोमीटर से आगे 49.92 किलोमीटर तक में 3 पैदल यात्री अंडरपास, 1 वाहन अंडरपास, 3 छोटे पुल, 1 बड़ा पुल और आठ पुलिया प्रस्तावित है। वहीं एनएच-58 पर 6.8 किलोमीटर से लेकर 52.52 किलोमीटर तक 8 फ्लाईओवर, 10 पैदल यात्री अंडरपास, 1 वाहन अंडरपास, 2 छोटे पुल, दो बड़े पुल, 29 पुलिया, 1 आरओबी और एक टोल प्लाजा का प्रस्ताव है।
