Current Market Per a surprise survey in 2012 conducted by the govt agency FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India), 88% milk in UP & 68% milk in India was found adulterated. Cheap and easily available adulterants like urea/detergents/soap (for synthetic milk), Oxytocin and other hormones (injected into non milking cattle to start their milking cycle or to increase milk production, these can cause severe hormonal imbalance, raze, anxiety, depression and several other serious diseases), harmful preservatives (so that milk does not go sour and stand intact until it is processed into packets), , , list is just too long. These adulterations have devastating effects over time.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but in today's world one can consider himself lucky if his milk man is only mixing water. (that too if the water is not contaminated!), let alone the nutritive value of the milk.
